Mr. Ricky R. Holloway

Statesboro, Ga. Ricky Raymond Holloway was born in Metter, Georgia on September 3, 1955 to the late Mr. Raymond and Claudia Mae Holloway. His brother Jimmie Ray Holloway and sister Annie Lee Holloway preceded him in death. He was educated in the public school system in Candler County, GA. He later joined the Armed Forces and retired after serving 4 years in the Army and 16 years in the Navy Reserve. After military services, he worked at Brooks and Wal-Mart Distribution Center. He accepted God in his life and was a faithful member of Statesboro Mission Outreach until his health declined. He leaves to cherish: wife, Sharella Holloway, Statesboro, GA; four daughters, Octavia Holloway-Freeman, Shaikeria Joyce, Tiffany (Christopher) Deloach and Calashia Joyce, all of Statesboro, GA; three sons, Ricky Holloway Jr. and Charles Joyce Jr., both of Statesboro, GA and Jacob Johnson of Metter, GA; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Louise (Harvey) Pinkston, Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Mr. Jessie Lee (Norma Jean) Holloway and Mr. James Wesley (Amanda) Holloway, both of Metter, GA; four grandchildren; his mother-in-laws, Mrs. Betty Clark and Mrs. Mary Tenner, both of Statesboro, GA; his stepmother, Mrs. Ella Mae Holloway, Metter, GA; four aunts, Mrs. Thelma Byrd, Metter, GA, Mrs. Frankie Mercer, Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Marie Holloway, New York, NY, and Mrs. Doris Holloway, Florida; three uncles, Mr. J.T. (Louise) Tyler, Metter, GA, Mr. James Wesley "Red" (Letha Mae) Holloway, Nevils, GA, and Mr. Leholmes (Bessie) McCall, Bowling Green, KY; a special niece, Sonya Holloway, Register, GA; a special nephew, Fredrick Holloway, Portal, GA; two special cousins, Mr. Henry Mercer, Jacksonville, FL and Mr. Jerry Holloway, Statesboro, GA; a special cousin and best friend, Mr. John Byrd, Statesboro, GA; a close friend and fishing buddy, Mr. Leroy Mincey Sr., Statesboro, GA. He also leaves to cherish a host of other loving relatives and friends. Services of Celebration will be held 11:00 a.m Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Statesboro Mission Outreach Ministries, Inc. Highway 301 North, with the pastor, Bishop Virgil Badie, officiating, Burial will follow in the Sam's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Metter, Ga. Friends may visit the mortuary from the hour of 12:00 noon to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Final rites entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
