Register, Georgia Mr. William R. Howard, III, better known as “Cooter”, age 56 died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Memorial Health University Medical Center with his family at his bedside. The Bulloch County native was educated in the public school system of Bulloch County and a graduate of the Statesboro High School class of 1977. He enlisted in the Army after high school where he was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After severing in the U.S. Army, William returned to Statesboro and began working with his farther as a brick mason with Howard Construction Company. He is preceded in death by his father, William Howard, Jr. and a brother, Victor R. Howard. He leaves memories to be cherished by his wife, Terri Darby-Howard, Register, GA., a daughter, Sierra Howard, Statesboro, GA., two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Natasha) Lovett, Ruskin, Fla. and Jerrian (Ashley) Black, Lawrenceville, GA., six grandchildren, Jaden, Elijah, Kenneth and Kennedi, all of Statesboro, GA., Bryce and Breana, Ruskin, Fla., his mother, Carrie D. Howard, Statesboro, GA., a sister and brother-in-law, Carroll (Julius) Hunter, Statesboro, GA., sisters-in-law, Pat Darby, Statesboro, GA. and Carol O’Conner, Savannah, GA., Sierra’s mother and nan of grandchildren, Earlene Howard, Statesboro, GA., his aunts, Martha (Floyd) Riggs, Statesboro, GA. and Mary Foster, Cincinnati, OH., his uncles, Raiford Deloach and Freddie Grant, Sr., both of Statesboro, GA., a host of other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. The funeral service for Mr. William R. Howard, III will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Hope Community Baptist Church, 695 Hope Baptist Ch. Rd. Statesboro, Georgia with the Rev. Milton Rollins, presiding and the Rev. Jennie R. Rollins, pastor/eulogist. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
