-Statesboro, Ga. - Mrs. Peggy Ann Spells Herrington, age 53, passed into rest, Saturday June 12, 2010 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was a Bulloch County native and currently attending Ogeechee Technical College. At an early age she joined the Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. Church where she served faithfully. She was a graduate of the Portal High School class of 1974 and a member of the Royal Savings and Civic Club. Mrs. Herrington leaves memories to be cherished by her husband of 34 years, Rev. Joe H. Herrington Sr., Statesboro, Ga; 3 sons, Joe H. Herrington, Jr., Statesboro, Ga; Isaac Herrington, Blackshear, Ga; and Paul Herrington, Statesboro, Ga; a step son, Joe Williams, Statesboro, Ga; mother, Annie Maude Spells, Westberry, NY; 5 sisters, Gerlene Spells and Kathy Spells both of Westberry, NY; Janis (Randy) Raymond and Evelyn Spells both of Portal, Ga; Mabeline (Tracy) Woods, Caruthersville, MS; 4 brothers, Jerry (Chrissy) Spells, Pembroke, Ga; Dennis Spells, Claxton, Ga; Burman Edward (Laswan) Spells, Millen, Ga; and Danny Spells, Portal, Ga; 3 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, 2 grandson, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Ann Spells Herrington will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday June 16, 2010 at the United Fellowship Worship Center 17 Allen Circle with Pastor Brock Taylor presiding and the Elder Joseph Mosley officiating. Burial will be held in the Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Herrington will lie in state at the church on the day of service one hour until the funeral services.
