Mrs. Pearl Harden Parrish

PORTAL, GA Mrs. Pearl Harden Parrish, age 95, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County, GA and a member of the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Georgia Southern University. Mrs. Parrish leaves a legacy of love to be cherished by, five daughters, Maudestine Hall, Deerfield Beach, FL., Mary (Harley) David, Savannah, GA., Ola (Cliff) Lovett, Carolyn Johnson, Marolyn (Roosevelt) Martin all of Portal, GA; three sons, Homer (Essie) Parrish, Lester Parrish and Roscoe Parrish all of Portal, GA; thirty two grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. There will be a public viewing from 12 noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. 58 Packinghouse Road, Statesboro, GA 30458. Mrs. Parrish will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service on the day of service. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The funeral service for Mrs. Parrish will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 9, 2015 at the Scarboro Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 21 Pecan Grove Road, Portal, GA 30450, the Rev.Grant M. Turner, pastor, with the Rev. John C. Newkirk as eulogist and Minister Christopher Martin, presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
