Mrs. Ossie Mae Hendrix

October 10, 1937 - April 13, 2020

Statesboro, GA “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 Mrs. Ossie Johnson Hendrix drifted into eternal rest on April 13, 2020 surrounded by her husband and children. She was 82 years old and lived a full, blessed life! Born on October 10, 1937, Ossie was one of eight children born to Osbrn and Katie Blunt Johnson, who preceded her in death. Known for her love of cooking and kind and generous heart, Ossie touched many lives and created cherished memories with her family while serving delicious meals that nourished souls. Ossie was preceded in death by her son, Norris Hendrix, brothers, Benny and Arthur Green and Bubba and John Willie Johnson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; a loving husband of 57 years, HB Hendrix,Statesboro, GA sons, Randy Hendrix and Ricky Hendrix both of Jesup, GA, daughters, Luvern (Rudoff) Robinson, Brooklet, GA, Diane Hendrix and Ernestine Hendrix both Statesboro, GA, her siblings, Sarah Green Ferrell, Gracie Mae Hendrix and George Johnson all Statesboro GA, four grandchildren: Shiffonda (Robert) Wiggins Statesboro, GA, Jocelyn Robinson Ft. Drum, NY, Lorenzo Hendrix Jesup, GA and Tierra Fox, Statesboro, GA, along with four great-grandchildren to add to the generation, Nehemiah and Zion Weaver, Statesboro, GA, Leland Hendrix, Jesup, GA and Adalyn Jordan, Statesboro, GA, sister-in-laws, Janie Lee Hendrix, Winter Haven, FL and Lottie Mae (Harry) Brown, Brunswick, GA, a godson, Cameron Harris, Jesup, GA, a host Other family members and friends in the Jesup and Statesboro community. Viewing for Mrs. Ossie Hendrix will be held Friday, April 17, 2020 at Hill's Mortuary, Inc. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, graveside services and burial will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Pastor Lisa Deloach, officiating. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
