Mrs. Hazel M. Lovett

June 7, 1924 - October 31, 2017

Statesboro, Georgia Mrs. Hazel M. Lovett age 93, passed into rest, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bulloch County native was the oldest of nine children born to the late Dewey and Mamie Favors Lee. She received her formal education in the public school system of Bulloch County and was the wife of the late Mr. Fred C. Lovett. Mother Hazel Lovett was a dedicated member of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church where she served on the mother’s board as well as a member of the choir. She was a retired employee of the Bulloch County Board of Education as a food service worker at Julia P. Bryant School. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Lovett Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memories her granddaughter, Crystal V. Lewis, (Gregory) Statesboro, GA, a great granddaughter, Navy M. Kemp, Statesboro, GA, Mae Pearl McCarty, Ft. Pierce, FLA, Bernice Eliga, St. Petersburgh, FLA, and Valleen Reeves, Ft. Pierce, FLA, a brother, Willie Jonas Lee, Ft. Pierce, FLA, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Mrs. Lovett will lie in state at the church on the day of service one hour until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The funeral service for Mrs. Lovett will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Gary Wallace, pastor, presiding and the Elder Joseph Mosley, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
