Mrs. Ethel Lee Walden

February 4, 1938 - May 24, 2020

Statesboro, GA Mrs. Ethel Lee Walden, age 82, passed into rest, Sunday May 24, 2020 at the Westwood Nursing Facility. She was the daughter of the late Willie Marshall and the late Annie Morris. Mrs. Walden received her formal education in the public school system of Daugherty County and after graduation she relocated to Bulloch County, Georgia. Mrs. Ethel Walden was a retired Domestic Engineer and had a great love for children. This led to her opening up her home to become a private day-care provider. She was a faithful member of the Bible Time Deliverance Church where she served as an usher. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Richard Walden; a brother, John Ingram; sister, Clara Thomas; a grandson, Antonio Larry Venson; a great grandchild, Pyne’ Venson and her god mother, Lillie Mae Kirkland. She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Anjanette Shantell (Keith) McArthur, Statesboro, GA and Mary (Louis) Morrell Venson, Savannah, GA, a son, Marcus Chad Walden, Statesboro, GA, six grandchildren, ten grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a brother, Willie Mabrey, Albany, GA, brother-in-law, Frank (Connie) Walden, Atlanta, GA, sisters-in-law, Bernistine (Dr. James Edward) Thomas Millen GA, Doris Ingram, Albany, GA, Bertha Walden, Statesboro, GA, Sylvia Walden, Atlanta, GA, several god children, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A public viewing will be on Wednesday afternoon from the hours of 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. Graveside funeral services and burial will be held 11 a.m Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Dixon Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Larry McMillan, officiating. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be enforced at the funeral home and graveside services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
