Mrs. Elizabeth Davis

December 4, 1941 - July 2, 2016

Statesboro, GA., Mrs. Elizabeth Davis passed into rest, Saturday morning, July 2, 2016 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Ester and Pearl Fredrick Holmes. She attend the public schools of Bulloch County Georgia and was retired from the Bulloch County Board of Education as a cook and currently employed by Willow Pond Assisted Living. Mrs. Davis served for many years as a state foster parent and was a member of the Little Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Edward Davis, Jr., Dexter Tharon Davis, Anthony Davis and Ester M. Roberts all of Statesboro, GA., sisters, Bessie M. Morris, Savannah, GA., Maggie L. (Charlie) Hendrix, Statesboro, GA., Jannie Ruth (James) Smith, Brooklet, GA., Willie Pearl (Jackie) Clark, Statesboro, GA., Mary L. (Bobby) Martin, Statesboro, GA. and Joyce Shaheed, Atlanta, GA., a sister-in-law Dorothy (Jack) Williams, Savannah, GA., a mother-in-law, Barbra Davis, Statesboro, GA., a god son, Demetrius Blake; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. Remains will lie in state on the day of service from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Little Bethel Baptist Church 327 Railroad Street, Brooklet, Ga. with the Rev. Brock B. Taylor, presiding and the Rev. John T. McPhatter, pastor/eulogist. Burial will follow in Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
