Mrs. Dorothy Davis-Gregg

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Davis Gregg, the daughter of the late Arthur Davis and Virginia Walker Davis was born in Sylvania, Georgia on June 26, 1943. Mrs. Greg was educated in the Bulloch County School System. After the passing of her biological father Dorothy, then was fortunate to have William “Hamp” Saxton as a father figure in her life. After completion of her early education in Bulloch County, she relocated to Northern, New Jersey. After her arrival in New Jersey she obtained her Nursing Certification. She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Newark, NJ, where she served in the church’s nursing unit for many years until she could no longer fully dedicate herself. Those left to cherish her legacy will include, her husband, Mack Arthur Gregg, Irvington, NJ., two loving children, Kelvin Davis, East Orange, NJ., and Bridgette (Steven) Battle, Jacksonville, Fla., one grandson, Kelvin “Deon” Davis, Richmond Hill, GA., three sisters, Linda Saxton, Bettye Saxton and Nina Bell Frink all of Statesboro, GA., five brothers, Bennie Lee (Edith) Saxton, Sylvania, GA., Thomas Saxton, Metter, GA., Ronnie Saxton, Statesboro, GA., William Saxton, Statesboro, GA., and Stanley Saxton, Statesboro, GA., a step sister, Alma Sampson, Sylvania, GA., step brothers, Robert Ruffin and Fred Ruffin both of Rocky Ford, GA., two uncles, Hardy Walker, Douglasville, GA. and Jimmy Lee Walker, Glenville, GA., an aunt, Bobbi Walker, Donaldsonville, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Curtis Frink, Statesboro, GA., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Dorothy Mae Davis Gregg will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at the Saint Paul Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at hillsmortuaryinc. Final rite entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
