Ms. Cynthia Mincey

July 6, 1955 - July 11, 2015

McDonough, GA Ms. Cynthia Mincey, age 65, the daughter of the late Mr. Calvin and Mrs. Mamie Jenkins Mincey, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at her residence in McDonough, GA. She was a former native of Statesboro, GA. She was educated in the public school system of Bulloch County and she was a proud graduate of William James High School Class of 1968 and Albany State College Class of 1972. Ms. Mincey resided in McDonough, GA for many years, and was a former case worker, later she retired from the State of Georgia as a disability adjudicator. At an early age, she joined the Historical First African Baptist Church and in 1972, she joined the Mt. Ephraim Missionary Baptist Church and she was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ms. Mincey is survived by her sister, Ms. Shelia Mincey of Atlanta, GA; a special cousin who was reared as a sister, Ms. Linda Williams of Statesboro, GA and a niece, Ms. Phyllis Cone of Carrollton, GA; and other loving relatives and friends. The visitation for Ms. Mincey will be held from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Hill's Mortuary, Inc., 58 Packinghouse Road, Statesboro, GA 30458. Ms. Mincey will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service. Delta Omega services will begin promptly at the hour of 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church, 20 Elm Street, Statesboro, GA., with Rev. Frankie Owens as eulogist, and Rev. Kenneth Griffin, pastor. Burial will follow in the Eastside Cemetery. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
