Statesboro, GA Mr. Clarence Prince, age 81, departed this life on, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Vanburen Prince and Agnes Slater Williams. He received his formal education in the Public School System of Bulloch County, Georgia and was a graduate of the Williams James High School class of 1958. Mr. Prince began his farming career in 1959 with his grandfather, Pete Slater. After being cultured by his grandfather, he began farming 1962. He presently farmed 1400 acres in the Middle Ground Community and grew soybeans, cotton, peanuts and wheat. He proudly became Bulloch County’s largest African American farmer in this area and surrounding counties. Mr. Clarence Prince was voted Agri Business Farmer of the year in 1996 by the Georgia Farm Bureau and voted farmer of the year in 2011 by the Statesboro, Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce. He was an avid fan of the Georgia Southern Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. He was a faith for member of the St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents and grandparents, he is proceeded in death by a sons, Freddale Brown and Jimmy Prince, two brothers, Ray Williams and Willie James Williams and a great aunt, Sarah Hilton. His memories are left to be cherished by: his seven, daughters, Beverly Prince, Shannon (Ron) Rhodes, and Tokia Brown all of Statesboro, GA, Chelsea (Tony) Hill, Jacksonville, FL, Sheryl Brooks, Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra Brown, Summerville, MA, and Tiffany (Charles) Offley, Brockton, MS; six sons, Clarence Prince Jr., Marvin (Denise) Prince, Spencer Prince and Michael Brown all of Atlanta, GA, Morris (Jean) Prince, Statesboro, GA, Reccardo (Tina) Brown Sr., Augusta, GA, five sisters, Cassandra Harden and Lorraine Weston both of Ft. Pierce FL, Helen Givens and Yvonne Washington both of Tampa, FL and Elaine Benjamin, Cocoa Beach, FL, a brother, Robbie Williams Sr., Tyler TX, three aunts, Mary Sabb, Statesboro, GA, Lossie Lee, Fishkill, NY and Catherine Prince-Long, Ft. Pierce, FL, 16 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren, special friends, Talmadge Parker, Harvey and Janice Holloway, Robert Lee, Allen, Kevin and Stacey Spence and Arthur “Pike” Wilkerson, a host of other relatives and many friends. A walk through viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from the hours of 12 noon until 7 p.m. at Hill's Mortuary, Inc. Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing and masks are requested. The funeral services for Mr. Clarence Prince will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at his residence located, 8975 Two Chop Road Statesboro, GA 30461 with Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., presiding and the Rev. Timotheous Mincey, officiating. A private burial will be held in the Lee Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be enforced at the funeral services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
