-Portal, Ga. - Mr. Ben Lloyd Jr., 78, passed into rest, Monday April 12, 2010, at the Select Specialty Hospital, Augusta, Ga. The Savannah native received his early childhood education in the public school system of Chatham County; he was a graduate of the A. E. Beach High School and Savannah State College. He served his county in the United States Air Force and was retired from International Paper Company after 37 years of service. Before moving to Bulloch County he was a member of the Resurrection of Christ Catholic Church, later he united with the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Lloyd leaves memories to be cherished by, his loving wife, Ada Butler Lloyd, Portal, Ga; children, Terry Brown, Atlanta, Ga; Eric (Valerie) Lloyd, Savannah, Ga; Diane (Wesley) Kum, Alabama; Ramon Lloyd, Savannah, Ga; Angela (Joel) Palmer, Tampa, Fl; Brenda (Roger) Lovett, Statesboro, Ga; Gregory Butler, Statesboro, Ga; and Latasha Smalls, Stafford, VA; siblings, Jimmy (Ernestine) Lloyd and Mildred Lloyd both of Savannah, Ga; and Geneva Prince, Baltimore, MA; grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral services for Mr. Lloyd will be held 12:30 p.m. Saturday April 17, 2010 at the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church with the Elder Gary Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Mr. Lloyd will lie in state at the church on the day of service one hour prior to the services. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
