Mr. Arthur L. Young

Boston, Mass. Mr. Arthur Young passed into rest, Thursday, January 10, 2012 at his residence in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Young was the son of the late Frank and the Reverend Sister Flora Hendrix Young of Statesboro, GA. He was educated in the public school system of Bulloch County and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1964. Upon graduation he in listed in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge. He was a heavy weight boxer, cab driver and a construction worker. Mr. Young also was employed by the Gillette Corporation, the Boston Edison and was a licensed electrician with M.B.T.A. until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Young and a brother, Willie Frank Young. Mr. Young leaves memories to be cherished by, his wife, Shirley C. Young, Boston, Mass., two children, La’Tanya and Donald Young both of Boston, Mass., two brothers, Henry Young, Boston, Mass. and Ronnie Williams, Cincinnati, OH., a sister-in-law, Bernice Young, Boston, Mass., two grandsons, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The funeral services for Mr. Arthur Young will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2012 at the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. with the Rev. Ronnie S. Tremble, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
