Mr. Wiley Oglesby

Statesboro, Georgia Mr. Wiley Oglesby was born on October 7, 1962, in Statesboro, Georgia, to the late O.C. and Emma Lou Mincey Oglesby. He received his formal education in the public school system of Bulloch County and was a graduate of the Statesboro High School Class of 1980. "Cleve," as he was affectionately known to many, began his career in manufacturing at Grinnell in 1980. He went on to be self-employed as co-owner of Qwik Connect Wireless. He then went to work and retired from MD Plastics in Brooklet, Ga. In addition, his hard work, Wiley enjoyed fishing with his sons, racing with his brothers and was a die-hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church and active friend of the Johnson Grove Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Artis "Shug" Oglesby, Otis “Buck” Oglesby and sister, Sadie Harrison. He leaves his memories to be cherished by his wife Inez Oglesby and children, Sharday (Jeremy) Chavers of Statesboro, Georgia, Wiley Oglesby Jr. of Statesboro, Georgia, Courtney (Courtney Carter) Oglesby of Statesboro, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Joyce Marie Parrish, Metter, Georgia, brothers, Jimmy Oglesby of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Wayne (Burnita) Oglesby of Register, Georgia, William Oglesby of Register, Georgia, Willie (Raushana) Oglesby of Statesboro, Georgia, and Kelvin (Charlynn) Oglesby; sisters, Katie O. Smith of Register, Georgia, Carolyn O. Prescott of Forsyth, Georgia, Gennie (Elder James) Blair of Wrightsville, Georgia; grandchildren, Ayden Oglesby, Courtney “CJ” Oglesby Jr., Emma Oglesby, McKenzie Carter, Chloe Brown, Jayse Chavers, Jeremy Chavers Jr, Jestin Chavers, Kolton Chavers, Jamison Chavers; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the mortuary. The funeral service for Mr. Wiley Oglesby will be held at 3 P.M., Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc., with the Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., presiding and the Rev. S. Maurice Hill, Officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethlehem Baptist Church, Register Georgia. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
