Mother Eva Mae Magny

Statesboro, GA Mother Eva Mae Byrd Magny, age 76, passed into rest, Monday evening, February 8, 2021 at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Gary and Eddie Mae Allen Byrd. She received her formal education in the Bulloch County school system and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1965. At an early age she accepted Christ and was baptized at the St. Paul Baptist Church, Register, Georgia. Upon graduation, she moved to Newark, NJ, and became an active member of the Newark Gospel Tabernacle Church. Eva Mae Byrd Magny was retired from the Clara MAAS Hospital of Bellville, NJ. Upon her retirement, she returned to Savannah, Georgia, then Statesboro, Georgia and became a faithful member of the New Holy Ground Tabernacle Deliverance Church where she served as church mother and chief intercessor. In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband, Antwan Magny; siblings, Gary Byrd, Jr., Overseer Levell Byrd Jones and Dorothine Byrd. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Don (Mary) Byrd, Statesboro, GA and Derrick (Colita) Byrd, Saddle Brook, NJ, three sisters, Eddie Bea (Winslow) McCullough, Sylvania, GA, Evangelist Della (Deacon Percil) Moye, Pooler, GA and Apostle Dr. Cheristerlyn Brooks, Statesboro, GA, five brothers, David (Mattie) Byrd, Statesboro, GA, Pastor Levon (Linda) Byrd, Beaufort, SC, Calvin Byrd Statesboro, GA, Pastor Eddie (Pastor Linda) Byrd, Metter, GA and Connell Byrd, Statesboro, GA, a brother-in-law, Deacon Douglas Jones, Statesboro, GA, an aunt, Ida Wigfall, South Bend, IN, a uncle, Sewonie Mincey, South Bend, IN, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren,special friends, Charlotte Hall and Hazel Williams, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. A walk through viewing for Mother Magny will be held Friday afternoon, February 19, 2021 from the hours of 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. Graveside services and burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Apostle Dr. Cheristerlyn Brooks, officiating. Services may be viewed via-live stream at our Hill's Mortuary Facebook page. There will be no viewing at the graveside. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be enforced at the funeral home and graveside services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
