Mr. Edward "Bird" Davis Jr.

Charlestown, SC Edward Davis, Jr. better known to the family and friends as “Bird” was born on March 17, 1960, to the late Edward Davis, Sr. and Elizabeth Holmes Davis in Statesboro, Georgia. Edward Davis, Jr departed this life on June 5, 2026, at his residence in Charleston, South Carolina. Edward received his education in the Bulloch County School System and attended the Statesboro High School. Shortly after graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Army. During his military career he was deployed to several military bases. His longest deployment was at the U.S. Army Garrison which is 25 miles outside of Frankfurt, Germany where he spent two years. After fulfilling his military career, Edward also worked at Tom’s Food, in Columbus, Georgia and Lee’s Restaurant in Statesboro, Georgia. For the past seven years, Edward has resided in Charleston, South Carolina where he worked in Hospitality Maintenance at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Although living in South Carolina, he always made it his mission to return back home whenever he could so that he could fellowship with family. Edward loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger and had a welcoming heart. Some of his favorite hobbies included cooking and entertaining with loud music and telling jokes to make laugh for days. Edward was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Edward Davis, Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Holmes Davis. Edward leaves behind to cherish his memory: Mrs. Cynthia Davis (Wife); his son, Mr. Edward Davis, III; his daughter Ms. Nikki Joyce Brown; his grandchildren, Ms. Saria Carter, Mr. Jerricas Brown, Mr. Gaije Brown, Mr. Declan Brown, his brothers, Mr. Dexter Davis (Charlotte); Mr. Anthony Davis (Mary); and a sister Ms. Easter Michelle Roberts, along with a host of loving aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Edward Davis, Jr., will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of HIll's Mortuary, Inc. with the Elder Donald Chavers, Jr., officiating. Inurnment will be held at 1 P.M. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville Georgia. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
