Mr. Don Edwin Wilson Sr.

Statesboro, Georgia Mr. Don Edwin Wilson, Sr., age 74, entered rest, early Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Harvey and Lee Bertha Love Wilson. At an early age he confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of the Rehovia Missionary Baptist Church. At the time of his passing, he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. Don received his formal education in the Bulloch County School System. He was a proud graduate of the William James High School Class of 1967. He furthered his education by graduating from Savannah State College (now university). He was employed, for many years, at WEAS E 93 Radio Station where he retired as a radio broadcaster and sales representative. He was also employed by Sears, in both Savannah and Statesboro, from which he also retired. On Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, Don, entered eternal rest, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eddie “Peter” and Bessie Wilson; his maternal grandparents, Levi and Sallie Love; an uncle and aunt, Woodrow and Helen McClain Wilson, and his sister, Bonnie Wilson Malave. Those who will forever cherish his memories are, his loving wife, Gloria Moss Wilson, Statesboro, GA; a son, Don E. Wilson, Jr., Statesboro, GA; a brother Ricky (Sabrina) Wilson, Prince George, VA; sisters, Sandra (Larry) Parker and Felicia (Eric) Dunlap both of Atlanta, GA; 4 grandchildren, Michael Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs, Ti’amber Wilson and Dallas Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Wilson family will receive visitors on Thursday evening, March 28, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. Mr. Wilson will lie-in-state on the day of service, from 1 pm until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. The funeral service for Mr. Don E. Wilson will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 2 pm, at the Original First African Baptist Church 545 Westside Road Statesboro, Georgia, the Rev. Christopher Culbreth, I, Pastor, with the Rev. Frankie L. Owens, presiding and the Rev. Dr. Lewis E. Logan, II, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Rehovia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
