Mr. Christopher Hunter

Statesboro, Georgia Mr. Christopher Hunter entered rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. A Bulloch County native, he received his formal education in the Bulloch County School System and graduated with the Statesboro High School Class of 1988. During high school, he participated in football, basketball, track, and the Upward Bound Program. After graduation, he attended Albany State University, where he developed the knowledge and leadership skills that helped him become Nabisco’s Southeast Regional Manager. Chris also held managerial roles with several other organizations, including Family Dollar, Hobby Lobby, and Hyundai. He was a compassionate person with a heart of gold who cared deeply for others, especially his family. At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Williams; paternal grandparents, John and Lillian Johnson- Hunter; maternal grandparents, Leroy “Tobe” and Lizzie Mae Hill- Morrell; nephews, Kanye Williams and Lance Jefferson; uncles and aunts, Willie Hunter, James Edward and Minnie Pearl Hill- Hunter, John Willie and Petronia Canty - Hunter, Rosa Calloway, and Cora Lee Morrell Howard Larry. His precious memories will forever be cherished by his children: Krishauna Jenkins, Quenstaysha Everett, Quendaysha Everett, Mazi Christian Hunter, Destini Genwright, Kristiana Hunter, Chriztopher Hunter; grandchildren, Mavericks Jenkins, Kaiden Frazier, Kensley Frazier; parents, Lee Watts and Catherine Morrell - Hunter of Statesboro, GA.; siblings, Percy (Jessica) Morrell of Statesboro, GA, Arnice (Randy) Hunter- Mercer of Fairburn, GA., Warnice (Darrell) Hunter - Wilson of Pensacola, FL and Kathy Hunter of Statesboro, GA; Aunts, Mary Morrell and Evangelist Annie Morrell -Spencer of Savannah, GA, Evangelist Mammie Morrell, Mae Helen Morrell-Jones and Rodie Hunter of Statesboro GA, Elouise Hunter - Ford and Louise Hunter -Anderson of Waukegan, IL., and Rosa Lee Morrell of Rochester, NY, and a host of nieces and nephews. Chris had a big heart and took on the role of a father and raised Ta’Keyvion Holmes and Travione Brown as his own. He also leaves to cherish many of his precious memories with his beloved love, Tiesha Holmes. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2026, from 6-7 PM at the Ben Samuel Hill Chapel of Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. The funeral service for Mr. Christopher Hunter, will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Elm Street Church of God, the Rev. Alexander Smith, Jr., pastor and the Elder Donald Charvers, Jr., officiating. The burial will follow in the Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
