Mrs. Patricia Ann Joyce

A heaven sent angel has left us, Patricia Ann Taylor Joyce, 64, was born on September 23, 1946 to Earleen V. Taylor Hill and the late Hinson Howard, Sr. She passed at her residence on June 30, 2011 after a brief illness. Pat (as she was called) was baptized at an early age and became a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church in Brooklet, GA. She attended Brooklet High School. She married Carroll Joyce in 1963 and to this union 4 children were born. In 1965, her family moved to Boston, MA, where she resided for 40 years. She was employed with Raytheon in Boston for 30 years until her retirement in 2007. Upon retirement, she moved to Statesboro, GA to care for her mother and brother until her health started to decline. Pat will be remembered for her radiant smiling, bubbling personality and her giving heart. She was always serving others and always saw the beauty in everyone. Every holiday she always planned activities for the family to get together and enjoy each other’s company. She always made everyone feel welcome into her home and into the family. She found joy in cooking delicious meals for family and love ones. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Hinson Howard, Sr, her stepfather, Eugene Hill, and her brother Freddie Howard. She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life, her mother, Earleen V. Hill of Statesboro, GA; 4 Sons: Calvin Joyce, Jackie (Theresa) Joyce of Statesboro, GA; Kenneth (Tanya) Joyce of Marietta, GA; Tyrone (Lisa) Lewis of Boston, MA. 1 Daughter: Raylisa (Kenneth Hardison) Joyce of Swainsboro, GA. A special companion, Frederick Lee of Tifton, GA; 10 Sisters: Lena (Willie Mack) Mikell of Claxton, GA, Marie Hardison of Boston, MA, Linda (Bruce) Nelson, Ruby (Rodney) Swann, and Pamela (Ronald) Souder of Atlanta, GA; Mamie Lee McNeal of Sylvania, GA; Jessie Mae (Herman) Lemon of Arcola, GA; Adella (Tyrone) Knight of Atlanta; Diane (Stanley) Clark of Alexandria, VA; Delores Howard of Statesboro, GA. 7 Brothers: Ronnie (Robbie) Hill and Gene Hill of Statesboro, GA; Walter (Jacqueline) Hill of Brockton, MA; Hinson (Linda) Howard of Jacksonville, FL; Joe Howard of Invernes, FL; Ronnie (Yvonne) Howard of Atlanta, GA; and Johnny (Cassandra) Howard of Memphis, TN. 7 grandchildren, 1 Great-grand, close friends: Regina Ryan of Boston, MA, and Carroll Joyce of Marietta, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life for Ms. Patricia Ann Taylor Joyce will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at United Fellowship Worship Center with Pastor Brock Taylor officiating.
